In the Name of God Amen, I William Lucas of Brunswick County being weak and sick of body but of sound and perfect memory and calling to mind the Certainty of Death do make Constitute ordain and appoint this my last will and Testament in manner and form following viz. I recommend my Soul into the hands of God that gave it hopeing and verily believing to receive remission of my sins and Salvation of my Soul thru the merrits and mediation of our most blessed Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and my body to be buryed in such Christian like manner as my excon herefore named shall think fit and as to my worldly estate with which it hath pleased God to bless me I give and bequeath in manner and form following viz. Imprimis I give and bequeath to my Eldest Son John Lucas two hundred and fifty acres of Land lying on the South side of Meherrin River in Brunswick County being the land he now lives on to him and his heirs forever. i also give to my said son all my wearing apparrell. I also give unto my said son all the money that owe to me from son John and also give to his two Eldest daughters fifteen shillings apiece to buy back of them a mourning Ring. Item. I give to my son William Lucas (who is now absent four hundred acres of Land be the same more or less as it markt of on the lower part of my land it being that part which now markt for my Son Charles to him and his heirs for ever but if he never come back to Virginia to possess the said land then I revoke the above said gift to my son William and give the said four hundred acres of Land to be Equally Divided between my two youngest sons Samuel and David Lucas and their heirs forever. item I give to my son William Lucas one Negro Wench named Judy and to his heirs for ever. item I give to my son Charles Lucas one Negro Wench named Agee a Feather bed and furniture one Iron prod and my Troopers arms. item I give my Son Samuel Lucas one hundred acres of Land upon the Little Creek on the last wide of a place called the little field to him and his heirs for ever. i also give him two hundred and fifty acres more joining to the same being part of the Tract of Land I now live on to him and his heirs for ever. I also give him a young Negro Fellow named Harry a Feather bed and furniture and Iron prod and my Rideing horse. Item I give my son David all the remaining part of my land I now live on to him and his heirs for ever one Negro Man called Tom a feather bed and furniture one Iron Prod. Item I give to my Grandson William Lucas all my land lying on the South side Noises Creek in Bruns3wick County with all the stock a negro fellow that is non there and every thing else belonging to the Plantation to him and his heirs forever. item I give to my son David Lucas two hundred acres of Land at Moiles Creek and his heirs for ever. item I give to my loving wife Martha Lucas the choice of all the beds in the house and furniture. it is also my Will and Desire that my said wife have the benefit and use of the sd plantation whereon I now live During her Natural life notwithstanding any Lesoning Clauses or gifts to the Contrary and also the work of those two Negroes during her Natural Life viz Tom and agee and that my Sons to whom they were in this Will given not to have any Right to the said Negroes or their Labour till of her their Mothers Death notwithstanding any gifts of provitions to the remaining contrary. Item the remainder of my Estate I leave to be equally divided by these following persons. Viz Moses Johnson and John Irby between my wife and my Sons Charles William and Samuel and David Lucas and I do hereby oblidge my wife and sons to start and abridge by what my said Trustees Moses Johnson and John Irby shall act and doe in the Division of that part of my Estate Intrusted to their care. item I Leave my Sons Charles Lucas and Samuel Lucas to be the Excon of this my last Will and Testament and I also desire that my Estate be not appraised nor my Exon give any Security. in Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal this 25th day of February 1739. In the name of god, amen I David Lucas of the County of Brunswick and Parrish of sait Androse being sick and weak and in my perfect sences and being sensible of the Uncertain state of this mortal life as make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form folling. Imprimis my soul I resign into the hands of Almighty god through the merits and meditation of our savior Jesus Christ. Item my will and desire is that my just debts be duly paid and as touching of what worldy Estate it has been pleased god to bestow on me I give and dispose of as followeth. Item I give and bequeath unto my weel beloved wife Elizabeth Lucas The plantation whereon I now live likewise Eight Head of Cattle young & old and six Hogs that uses about the house & two more from another parcel they being all Killable Hoggs and three Sheep also the half of the profitt of my Still till my son Ephraim arrives to the age of Twenty one years three pewter Dishes Six plates and one large Chest and the Bed I now lie on and her choice of furniture sutiable and one Small Trunk one large hold during her natural life or widowhood as also four rush Bottom Chairs. Item I give and bequeath unto my well beloved son Ephraim Lucas the Tract of Land whereon I now live containing five hundred and fifty four acres one Negro Boy named Martin also I give him my Still in possession when he arives to the age of twenty one years one young horse named spark to him and his heirs for ever. As also one gun. Item I give unto my beloved Daughter Edith Lucas one negro girl named Easter one hunt she has now in possession also thirty five pounds Current money to her and her heirs for ever. Item My Will and desire is that their shall be no apraisment and as to the rest of my Estate which I have not Allready given away may be sold at publick auction and the money arising from the sales may be Equally divided between my two Children Ephraim Lucas and Edith Lucas. Lastly I do hereby appoint my Loving wife Elizabeth Lucas and my Brother Samuel Lucas Hole & Sole Executors of this my Last Will and Testament. This Indenture mad this fourteenth Day of December One Thousand Eight Hundred and One - Between Lewis Grigg and Edith his wife of Greensville County of the one part and John Harris of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Lewis Grigg and Edith his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Ninety four pounds Current money of Virginia to them in hand paid....have granted...one certain Tract or parcel of Land lying in Greensville County containing by estimation Ninety Four acres, be the same more or less and bounded as follows. Beginning on little Creek adjoining Peyton Harwell’s Land and running up a branch on the said Harwell’s line to a small road, thence along a line on a small branch on John Lilles’s line to a corner of Richard Sills and John Sills, thence along a line of marked trees on Richard Sills line to the said little Creen, thence down the said Creek to the Beginning....In Witness whereof the said Lewis Grigg and Edith his wife have hereunto set their Hands and affixed their Seals the day and year first above written. William Lashley Guardian of Ann Clanton Orphan of Edward Clanton decd produced a Receipt from Moses Johnson who intermarried with the said Orphan wherein the said Johnson acknowledges to have received the said Orphans Estate. Whereupon the said Lashley is discharged from rendering any further account of the said Estate.

In the Name of God, Amen, I Moses Johnson of the County of Greensville and Parish of Meherrin do make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament. Imprimus, I lend unto my wife Sarah Johnson the plantation at the time cultivated by me with as much woodland as may be sufficient for her support the said Land to be said joining the ? land, also the following property via my negroes Peter, Peggy, Lucy, Isaac and Bett, two feather Beds and furniture one horse named Derrick, one woman's saddle and bridles, one fourth part of my stock of hogs, cattle, sheep and geese, one fourth part of my pewter and table furniture during her natural life or widowhood reserving to my son David Johnson the liberty of residing in the household he nows lives in with the privileges he at this time enjoys. Item, I give and bequeath to my son David Johnson the tract of Land whereest I live, bounded as followeth - Beginning at the state line where it crosses the Little Creek, thence along the said line to Nathan Johnson's line, thence along his line to William Vaughans, thence along his line to Benjamin Edwards's line, thence along his line to Henry Chambliss's - Thence along his line to the Little Creek, thence up the said Creek to the Beginning, three negroes viz Mima, Isabel and lewis and their increase together with all the property that I have heretofore put in his possession to him and his heeirs forever. Item I give and bequeath to my son Moses Johnson one set of black - smiths tools, three negroes, viz Edy, Punch and Chancy with their increase together with all the property that I have heretofore put in his possession to him and his heirs forever. Item, I give and bequeath to my son Nathan Johnson the following negroes. At Greensville September Court 1793 This Will proved according to Law by the Oaths of Thomas Richardson and William Folks witness thereto and ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of David Johnson, Moses Johnson and Nathan Johnson, the Executors therein named who made Oath thereto and together with Achilles Jeffries and James Hinton their securities entered into and acknowledged their Bond in the penalty of five thousand pounds conditioned as the law directs. Certificate is granted them for obtaining a probate thereof in due form.
